15 years already!

Today, April 18 2018, Bookeen turned 15! In 2003, in an appartment in the south of Paris, Laurent Picard and Michaël Dahan founded Bookeen for “book enthusiasts”.

Fifteen years later, some things haven’t changed: we’re still just as passionate about ebooks! As for the rest…

After moving house a few times, Bookeen are still in the south of Paris but today the team is 25 people strong. Ten years after our first e-ink ebook reader, the Cybook Gen3, in Octobre 2017 we launched the Bookeen Saga, with its soft touch smart cover: like a paper book, but better. Along with the Saga is our Cybook Muse range, feather-weight e-readers for heavy reading. 😉

In addition to designing ebook readers, we have an independent ebookstore, Bookeenstore, and also a complete range of “white-label” services for partners and distributors worldwide.

We’ve got an amazing community of passionate readers we exchange with daily online on twitter, facebook, instagram, youtube… but also in person, at events like our Bookeencafé meetups or the Paris book fair “Livre Paris”.

A French Tech and BPI France excellence company, we are present in more than 50 countries.

These past fifteen years have been full of wonderful encounters and we wouldn’t be here without YOU, dear readers, who love ebooks as much as we do, and who’ve been sharing in this adventure with us whether for a few days or for many years! Thanks to all of you for your enthusiasm and your loyalty! ❤

Happy birthday to Bookeen, and happy reading to all!
