Cybook Ocean at the Paris Book Fair

Starting tomorrow at the Paris Book Fair (stand F13), Bookeen will present our line of Cybook readers, including the world premiere of the Cybook Ocean.

The Cybook Ocean will be available for testing on our stand. The Ocean is now announced for release between mid-May and mid-June, at a price of 179€. This reader offers a large 20.5cm (8″) screen, for 79% more reading area than a 6″ screen.

We’ve been working for the past two years to combine an extra-flat reader with an 8″ screen. As this format is new on the market, the supply of the screen has taken longer than expected.

Even if the product is not completely finalised, being able to hold one in your hands for the first time will show you that a reader with a large page size can also be extremely portable, especially encased in a new “slim” cover!

The Cybook Ocean will be available for pre-order at the Book Fair and within the coming weeks on our site.

    1. Hello spiric,
you’ll need a dictionary in the correct format for your Cybook. If you don’t have one, you can make one using this tool https://github.com/pettarin/penelope, or you can request a dictionary (or help to make your own) here http://www.mobileread.com/forums/showthread.php?t=167393
The dictionary will include 2 files: one file *.dict, one file *.dict.idx. Place both of these files inside the “Dictionaries” folder at the root of your Cybook. Then, when you select a word in a book, the results from your custom dictionary will be included in the list of definitions. You can select the position of your custom dictionary in the list of dictionaries, or disactivate any dictionaries you do not need, in the dictionary management settings: Home > Menu > Available Dictionaries. Untick the box at the far right to disactivate unneeded dictionaries, and use the up and down arrows to change the order of results.
      Happy reading,
      Bookeen Team
